An incredible juxtaposition photographed in traffic, October 2, 2005 in Eureka, California. The car in the foreground has license plates which read "Plz4Gve." Two vehicles ahead is a lumber truck filled to the brim with large, older trees headed for the log pile to become matches, chipcore, or chopsticks, their value to the community reduced to nothing but little green pieces of paper sent to another state.

Sometimes, it's hard to be a thinking, living, breathing, careing human and I was glad to have this reminder to always be compassionate.

Curiously, the day I took this picture, I was on my was to an attempt at reconciliation with a friend who had hurt me badly. I forgave and felt much better even though our friendship has never really recovered.
